PSHE

Ambleside PSHE Intent, Implementation and Impact

In PSHE, children take part in weekly circle times which explore issues related to our Christian Value of the month.  During these sessions, children also take part in activities related to issues such as online safety and further learning stemming from talks from the school nurse.  Every year, children take part in sessions on the Life Education bus; learning about how to stay healthy and safe.

Our school is a registered Kidsafe school.  Following the Kidsafe programme, our children are taught how to keep themselves safe, how to deal with bullying and how to look after themselves online.

In Key Stage 2, children take part in fantastic residential visits. These are valuable experiences for our children – they provide opportunities to develop the class community through team building activities, whilst developing other important life-long learning skills.   We have taken them to Edinburgh, London, and a variety of Outdoor Education centres such as Lakeside YMCA.  This variety ensures that children are made aware of what their local area can offer them and to allow children to experience a complete contrast to where we live. We also run an annual camp for Key Stage 2 children using our school camping equipment. This provides an experience for  1 or 2 nights camping out on our school field, surrounded by the amazing views of Loughrigg, Wansfell and Fairfield.
